Work smarter not harder is a phrase I often heard in the corporate world when more work would be piled on due to layoffs, acquisitions, mergers, tightening of the belt, or general economy. Short term pain for long term gain might be a better slogan. Id much rather work towards my dreams with an end goal in mind than putting my hopes in the chance that promotion will be based on initiative and demonstrative ability as objective statement on my resume once read. There is no true job security so why let that be a stumbling block. Success will elude you if you are not happy with yourself or your circumstances. Take it from someone whos been there. There is a better way than working 50-60+ hours a week, little sleep, and missing quality time with family or friends. Best part is you can even do it part time as you pursue those dreams.
