Working in retail, Im constantly surrounded by a diverse & dynamic group of strangers. Sometimes theyre awful people, but sometimes, like today, I meet a couple of real gems. One woman had just gone through her last chemo treatment and since losing her hair, wanted help looking and feeling more feminine. I gave her a makeover and she was glowing. She almost cried when she saw herself with eyelashes again. *Side note: She is also here from Armenia on political asylum, super interesting woman. Another (more mature) client wanted her make up done and when I asked her to look in the mirror, she refused. She told me that she has no mirrors in her home. She admittedly has dysmorphic syndrome. She trusted me enough to buy everything I put on her. Super sweet woman, but it was very sad to hear. Sometimes people really open up & spill all the beans. Weird world.
