Working on our Training Camp wrap up . . . I cant let this opportunity pass without reliving a few of our favorite camper quotes. There were belly laughs aplenty this weekend! 1) During dinner Saturday, we were recapping the day with the insane weather and serious climbing on the bike. It was brought up that Kimmie and Kendra Gustafson saw not one, but two bears. (as some of you know, Kimmie has been almost paralyzed with fear about the possibility of encountering a bear) Someone asked Kim Sharman if she was still nervous about the bears . . . as she was coming out her comotose state from a crazy hard training day, Kimmie declares The bears are the least of my worries! 2) Same scenario, post BIG ride/run Saturday, Kevin Orth is happily on the treatment table with Jacob D. Perkins working to ease post workout aches and pains. Kendra rolls off the elevator with Kimmie, drenched, exhausted and basically done. Kevin (while still on the table) says did you get rained on? Kendra: are you kidding?, a few moments of small talk pass. Kevin: did it rain a lot on your guys?, Kendra: are you KIDDING?, a few more moments of small talk . . . Kevin: so, like, did it rain when you were climbing back up to Whistler?, Kendra: like 18 times! Good thing there were two beds in their room. 3) Back at Saturday dinner, super casual with everyone hanging out in their sweats eating some pasta, spinach salad and going over race day strategy. Inevitably the talk turns to peeing on the bike. Everyone chimes in with their personal pee stories. David Orem and Pat, our IM newbies are like deer in the headlights listening to all of this. All you hear is I peed here!, oh, I peed here, yeah, but I peed here. Finally Kendra chimes in with THAT is why your bike shoes have holes in them! 4) I cant paint the picture on this one other than we were sitting around enjoying our final camp lunch on Sunday and wrapping up. Kimmie chimes in with Its so confusing when food comes your nose!
