Working with my dad on a roofing job when I was a kid, he told one of his workers to go down and get the tar. The worker, who was from Kentucky or Alabama or some other southern state, replied, Now Mike, what would you need the tar up on a roof fer? My dad didnt quite pick up on the dialect confusion so he just replied, Bruce, we dont have time to discuss it, just go down in the back of my truck and bring up the tar and Ill show you what were gonna do with it. Bruce was like, OK then and went down the ladder. A few minutes later my dad yells, who the heck brought my spare tire up here on a roof? Bruce replied, But Mike, you just told me to go and bring up the tar, now what on earth are we gonna do with it, thats what I wanna know! We all almost rolled off the roof laughing so hard!
