Additionally, this seminar provides an overview of the RID performance evaluation as described by the RID. Through lecture, small group activities and observation of model interpreters, participants will gain a thorough understanding of the expectations of interpreting the following: 1) The Miranda warnings 2) Courtroom testimony 3) Providing and interpreting voir dire 4) Jury instructions. Materials used are those devloped by the Legal Interpreters Members Section of the RID and the MARIE Center and while the class does not teach to the test, all aspects of the Specialist Examination testing process will be covered.
