World Cup memories. 94 days to go. In 1997, Scotland travelled to Belarus to try and win a crucial qualifier. Martin Black and i were in my bedroom glued to the telly hoping we could sneak a win. The only other time we had watched a Scotland game in my house was the 0-0 draw in Monaco v Estonia. At half time the score in Minsk was 0-0. Martin and i decided that my room was the reason for this and we were hindering the team. We got up and walked across the field to Martins house during the half time break. Within minutes we had scored a penalty and won the game 1-0. We believed that it was our preposterous actions that set us on the way to France 98.
