World, EU, US. If anyone in my circle of friends knows anyone - TopicsExpress

World, EU, US. If anyone in my circle of friends knows anyone inside the decision making circles, please, for the sake of the next generation, explain to them that now is the time to grow a spine and stand up to Putyin. Unfortunately, he is not the person that gives a damn about 12 people getting sanctioned in his inner circle. That is quite laughable in all reality, that that is the best the EU and US can come up with, when wealthy Russians and their companies own billions in assets in the West. The only solution to preventing a new European War, is to send in NATO peacekeepers with overwhelming force to Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia. Crimea is lost, the Russians have taken it, but if we dont show overwhelming support for Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia, Putyin will not stop until Tallinn, Riga, and Vilnius are flying the Russian flags, and they will disrupt the very peaceful European society that has allowed it to prosper. Putyin will not fight a real war. He is a deer with a mask of a bear. A coward who only dares step in the shadows. He took Crimea because it was easy for him. He marched into Sevastopol when the government was in disarray and on its knees asking for help. He shot a friend in the back, kicked him in the ribs, than stole his watch and wallet, and now waits if anyone comes to help him. If we stand up to this aggression, he will back down. Putyin does not have the military resources, nor the financial capability to fight a war alone, and none of Moscows friends will jump to Putyins aid, as all of them have secessionist problems, so they will not support a secessionist land grab. If we do nothing, than the credibility of the once mighty US and the altruistic EU will be worth nothing, and we will not have a bargaining chip on the table in any future international incident. The Russians will not fire a shot, but in order to stop their psychopathic, narcissistic leader, we must show unity and our muscle, or he will march right through the center of Europe, laughing all the way. Its now or never. If we want to relive a generation of fear and distrust in Europe, and allow states like China and North Korea to do whatever they want without fear of retribution, than we can just stand around drinking our Starbucks coffee and playing Candy Crush and pretend nothing important is happening in the World. Or, for the sake of our kids, we can grow a collective spine, realize its not just a spick of land jutting into the Black Sea that is affected, but the next 3 months will dictate how an entire generation lives, loves, learns and travels. It will determine if scarce budgets are again spent on the military, or education, if borders are dismantled or iron curtains erected, if people live in free, democratic societies, or are ruled by psychopaths.
