World number one tennis player Rafael Nadal believes that the Real Madrid fans were not right to jeer Cristiano Ronaldo against Rayo Vallecano last weekend. The Portugal international forward was booed by his own fans despite scoring the opening goal against their Madrid rivals in a 5-0 victory at the Bernabeu. Ronaldo was on target again on Wednesday as Real defeated Borussia Dortmund 3-0 in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie at home, scoring a record-equalling 14th goal of the season in Europe’s premier club competition. Nadal, who is a Real fan, watched the game at the Bernabeu and was pleased with Los Blancos’ performance, and at the fact that Carlo Ancelotti’s side have recovered from back-to-back defeats against Sevilla and Barcelona to win successive matches against Rayo and Dortmund. However, the 27-year-old has urged the Real supporters to continue to back the team. It wasnt right,” he told Marca when asked about the boos. “I would never boo at someone who goes out onto the pitch to give it his all. I wouldnt boo on principal. “The problem with sport, and with life, is that you can go from 0 to 100 and 100 to 0 in days. “Real looked like they were going to win the league and three days later everything is a disaster.”
