Worming day for our chickens... There are a number of wormers. - TopicsExpress

Worming day for our chickens... There are a number of wormers. And, as some of you already know that we use a Moxedectin based spot on treatment. Treating mites and lice, while treating some worms. But today its time to do a rotation of the wormer. We will be using Kilvern today. Big L is also very good. Both of these products are given via their water. But, we have found that some chooks will just avoid drinking the treated water. Sooooooo to outsmart them, we make up a wet food of POLLARD, it is a wheat based stock feed, something similar to a porridge for chooks. The chooks love it and gobble it down before they realise, they have just been wormed. Pollard is a good feed but it should not be used as a staple food, but, its great to give them a change. Anyway, if you dont want to use Pollard then try making up a porridge mix with Quick Oats etc., from the super market. Disguising the wormer in a porridge mix seems to be very effective. And if you want to add some butter, thats even more tempting for them.
