Worn of God Judges 6:33-35 “Now all the Midianites, Amalekites - TopicsExpress

Worn of God Judges 6:33-35 “Now all the Midianites, Amalekites and other eastern peoples joined forces and crossed over the Jordan and camped in the Valley of Jezreel.” Because God’s people had not listened to the Him, they subjected themselves to the assault of the their enemies. God heard their cry and had compassion on them. And so He visited His servant/warrior Gideon that He might have a man through whom He would deliver His people: 34 “Then the Spirit of the LORD came on Gideon, and he blew a trumpet, summoning the Abiezrites to follow him. 35 He sent messengers throughout Manasseh, calling them to arms, . . . “ The words: the Spirit of the Lord ‘came on’ or ‘came upon’ Gideon, are from the Hebrew word ‘labesh’; literally, to put on, wear, be clothed. The Spirit of God clothed Himself with Gideon, that he might blow a trumpet to summon the Abiezrites. That he might send messengers to Manasseh to call them to arms, for He intended to save His children. God has never stopped showing us what He loves to do: bless, set free, heal, deliver, love, save, forgive, and delight in us. He has clearly revealed His will to destroy all the works of the devil - that which harms His possession. The Spirit of the Lord looks for a man or a woman to wear, through whom He might blow a trumpet. Through whom He might summon many to follow Him. Through whom He might call His people to arms. The Spirit of the Most High would put us on, that He might freely do as He pleases. Is this not a word of the Lord for you and for me?
