Worry causes trouble. Luke 10:5 And into whatsoever house ye enter , first say , Peace be to this house. This seems to be a relevant topic this week. It seems life gets in the way... A lot. I know with my own life lately I have felt like if it isnt one thing then its another. When it rains it pours. There is constantly something else to work out, figure out, plan around, put time and effort and too much thought into. Most of these things are even completely unrelated to God: work, school, bills, vehicles, extracurricular activities, family events, and the list could continue. These are necessary responsibilities and even enjoyable, but we cannot let our minds wander so lost in ourselves that we forget why we are made to even walk the earth. Consider Jesus approach in Luke 2:49 And he said unto them , How is it that ye sought me ? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business ? Let us all remember to balance our lives accordingly. We do need to have our plans in order. God doesnt want us to have messy lives with no structure, but we must not neglect the ultimate call on us which is to please and serve God. Worry puts us in the position for these things: -lack of trust in God -discouragement -having our minds too busy to focus on more important things. How dare we neglect our Maker? God forbid. And when you feel like everything is caving in and there is no hope, read Luke 12:24-32. If God cares about the birds, the flowers, and the grass- consider how much the more He cares for you. Luke 12:24-32 Consider the ravens : for they neither sow nor reap ; which neither have storehouse nor barn ; and God feedeth them : how much more are ye better than the fowls ? And which of you with taking thought can add to his stature one cubit ? If ye then be not able to do that thing which is least , why take ye thought for the rest ? Consider the lilies how they grow : they toil not , they spin not ; and yet I say unto you , that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these . If then God so clothe the grass , which is to day in the field , and to morrow is cast into the oven ; how much more will he clothe you , O ye of little faith ? And seek not ye what ye shall eat , or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind . For all these things do the nations of the world seek after : and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things . But rather seek ye the kingdom of God ; and all these things shall be added unto you . Fear not , little flock ; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom .
