So you also, and stand firm with patience the coming of Lord, for he is near. - James 5:7-8 Waiting is a fact of life. There is a call to inaction or indifference or indecision. By contrast, requires much effort and diligent and regular training, and persistent hope that refuses to be stopped by the waiting. Just as one learns to play a musical instrument overnight, wait no means to rest and do nothing. Expect a wedding is exciting. There are many things you need to do, and generally the whole family is involved in are the same. Waiting for a baby makes the time pass more slowly, especially in recent weeks. Some things can not be rushed. The big things in life are not fast, but require discipline, study and work. The physical, emotional, mental and spiritual growth is not completed in one night. We may impede the process, but we can not accelerate beyond human or divine design capacity. The same applies to relations between people: grow and bloom, but rarely a friendship or romance are instantaneous. Waiting patiently on the Lord is learning. And really pays off when it is expected in the Lord, when His Word is studied, while under the influence of his Spirit, and when you trust your forgiveness, His promises, His providence, and His infinite love. The love of God, reminded through our faith in him, and revived through prayer, allows us to be patient with him and ourselves. Prayer: Teach them to be patient, Lord, even knowing that youre waiting beside us inviting us and helping us grow. Amen
