Would like to say the Lac du Flambeau community lost a great man Tuesday night when elder Ed Seneca passed on to the spirit world. I had the privilege of interviewing Ed and his wife Virginia two weeks prior. When I was talking to them, I knew they were gems, living history, and realized how fortunate I was to spend a couple of hours with them. Virginia spoke of Ed highly of her husband and his accomplishments in helping the Native Community through volunteerism, their church, and his coaching and mentoring young Native lacrosse players. Ed was as passionate as them come, loved life, and lived everyday as we should: to the limit, always willing to help and counsel if needed, and always supporting the community.
