Would like to share this as an avid old music lover for all my friends as well.. The talented Jaikishan Saab of Shankar- Jaikishan duo fame always had the habit of composing gems in Bhairavi Raag.. I as a fan was always under the impression that Bhairavi was his hardcore favorite raag ( which definitely must be as he named his daughter Bhairavi too) However few days back, i read on in one of the articles of TOI, that Raj Kapoor saab liked Bhairavi raag a lot and insisted SJ to compose gems in the same raag, so much so, that if SJ came up with some other genre of raag, Raj Kapoor saab use to show dirty looks without saying much which was an enough innuendo to them, & to Jaikishan ji in particular.. I never doubted Jaikishan Saabs talent, however I was slightly disgruntled that all his songs sounded a bit inter-related and repetitive using the same theme, However this again gives me a lesson, that instead of jumping on to some conclusions, without knowing the 2 sides of the story is always injudicious and like a court of law, I should have thought from the other perspective too.. Now that i got to know of Raj Saabs story, i felt it was unfair from my part to get disillusioned for Jaikishan jis compositions...This applies, not just in music, but also in our personal/ professional lives as well.. :) :)
