Would really love some opinions and possibly advice. Here is a video of me attempting (and eventually successful) to ride my pony. He hadnt been ridden in a long time due to everyone else having given up on him being ridden (hes about 12, I and others have tried working with him through the years, abused when he was quite young we think). Ill admit I had given up and the both of us has been learning to drive. Hes a completely different pony, loves driving work. But I got curious one day, and decided to try riding with his driving bridle. And this behavior is a thousand times better than it usually was. He also used to go along nicely once you finally got on, then have a panic, do a hairpin 180 and leave you in the dirt as he took off. Anyone else ever deal with a horse that hated being mounted this much? (We took it super simple on him in this video. Also tested the theory of using leg/crop freaking him out by only using voice commands. Seemed to work) youtu.be/BmJLYP2h7n8
