Wow. Fantastic NDP fundraising dinner in Truro Friday night honouring my parents lifetime of service to our community - for their many years devoted to the Education of students (at TJHS) and teachers (at the NSTC) and for their tireless efforts to strengthen and improve Multiculturalism; Feminism; Arts, Culture & Heritage; Peace; Human Rights; and Social Justice issues in Nova Scotia. To all the friends who joined us - including both current Acting-Leader Maureen MacDonald and former Provincial and Federal Leader Alexa McDonough - thank you on behalf of my whole family for helping us celebrate two wonderful lifelong New Democrats - Jan & Paul Zann - who are true examples of what Social Democracy is all about: equality, justice, integrity, loving kindness and prosperity for ALL - not just the lucky few. Because in our world view (for which we will continue to strive until it becomes a reality) NO ONE gets left behind. If you are feeling frustrated or hopeless - dont despair. In the words of Tommy Douglas, one of the founding members of our party and the Father of Medicare in Canada, It is never too late to build a better world.
