Wow, I posted on Twitter that the NDP and Greens, representing 19% of voters, had won zero representation and a minute later, I found out I spoke too soon!! Looks like Green Party of New Brunswick leader David Coon has won his seat in Fredericton South! Looks like the Liberal victory is also a victory for those who want a moratorium on fracking. Any environmental victory in Canada is something to celebrate. Now that Im done cheering for my favourite colour horse in the race and championing how the underdog passed the post, its worth mentioning that so far Coon has won with 31% of the vote. Meaning almost 70% of voters in that riding cast votes which elected no-one. Hopefully we wont hear stupid election night statements about how he is going to represent everyone in that riding. Looks like 13% of NDP voters in NB have zero representation in the NB legislature at all.
