Wow... Im not surprised though... There are no record companies out there that nurture artists anymore like they used to do. Theyre just looking to make a quick buck, and really dont care what kind of crap theyre putting out for US. With the option to buy single songs on iTunes, people (not all people) dont seem to care if there are good quality albums anymore, and bands and labels know this. Why should they waste their time making a GREAT album when they can just write, or have somebody else write, a sterile song that appeals to the masses and makes them a fortune. And if it doesnt appeal, dont worry, the record labels will just attach it to an Avicii track and sell it again. The other problem is radio, including satellite radio. They continuously ram this garbage music down our throats, and hire djs (who arent really disc jockeys anymore) who make kids think this music quality (or lack there of) is acceptable. For example, the rotation on any given mainstream station consists of maybe 10 songs by the following artists: Maroon 5, Nikki Minaj, Iggy Azalea, One Direction, Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Ariana Grande, Pitbull Ft. [insert pop star here], and Taylor Swift . Then they will play a hip hop song, and a throwback to that Kid Rock song in which he sampled Lynyrd Skynyrd. ITS ANNOYING. And as for Apple being part of this failure, they literally forced EVERYONE with an iPhone and/or iTunes to have another boring album. On a side note, why is nobody mad that they [Apple] could have given the $100,000,000 that they paid to U2 to a deserving charity instead of tormenting us with this terrible album. WE as a society need to DEMAND a better standard quality for music, otherwise we will continue to get less intelligent every time we listen to a song.
