Wow...It was 10 years ago today, I left Philadelphia to travel to New York; onward to Moscow; and to the final destination, Bryansk Russia, to complete the adoption of Alexei. Traveling with me was ex-BBD swimmer, Auburn Student, and the guy who agreed to take on what I now know to be the arduous the task of being Alexeis Godfather; Bill Sargent. (Hopefully no regrets on Wills part there...) If we thought the almost 30 hours of travel to arrive at our destination was an adventure, we by no means didnt know the half of it! The time in Bryansk may all have culminated with our drunken butts getting arrested by the local militia and ending with a $15 bribe (500 Rubles) so the two solders could get their Vodka; there was a boatload of stuff going on in between Alexeis gotcha date (thanks Bob Sorrell for that phrase) of November 28 and our departure from Moscow on December 12. The memories, they flood.... A shout out to World Links, Barb Kelly, Alexander Romanov (Sasha), and Yelena Bochenkova and her family for all their help and support then and now!
