Wow. Our USPS is such a scam. I bought insurance on a box I sent priority mail for $300 (contents were worth like $800) and everything was stolen out of it. The recipient called the day she recieved the empty box and went to the postal service that Monday (it was on a friday delivered). I filed online that week. She got an affidavit and signed it and brought to her postal service and they signed off. And this is what they told her: THEY WILL DENY YOUR CLAIM. They will let it sit on a desk and wait till 30 days has passed and then tell you you are outside of the date, so I am going to make sure this is stamped w/ the date showing its within 30 days. Guess what I get today? A denial. Its pretty sad that they tell us to buy insurance, you do everything right, submit claims on the right time, get it all done and they can tell you no based on someone OPENING it on the corporate end. And this gets better...I can appeal...by mail. NO phone number. I am so furious Im shaking.
