So blessed and this one was written 4 months after the guests stay, which shows we leave a lasting impression. #Bliss #Blessed “You owe it to yourself” Reviewed November 3, 2013 NEW Its been four months since I traveled on my first solo holiday to Bali. This alone demonstrates how busy my life has been and continues to be. My decision to go it alone was driven by the sheer need to allow myself to stop and be taken care of which I knew Id struggle with but so desperately needed. I typed in women who travel alone/bali and Bliss came up. Much research later I bit the bullet and booked trying not the feel the mother guilt of leaving my 18 year old behind. Yes, 18! From the moment I left Brisbane I was quite apprehensive about how I would be but I have to say, without a shadow of a doubt, it was the best thing I have ever done. I was met at the airport by the driver who was utterly enchanting, driven to a serene villa and met by the hostess who simply was the breath of calm supportive reassurance filled air I needed. From that point, nothing was too much. My room was exquisite, the bathroom filled with beautiful flowers and lotions I loved, the food utterly divine and the treatments out of this world. If I wanted to be alone I could be, if I wanted to sit at the fabulous table and eat with wonderful people and share the amazing food cooked by fabulous chefs, I could. The chocolate/fruit in the fridge and supply of cold/hot drinks on tap coupled with a huge dvd collection to while away a sublime night of indulgent alone time in a crisp and succulent bed was simply divine. Trips were organized on your wishes, I chose the bike tour which was fantastic! I thought being on my own would make me stick out but the more time I spent on my own, the more I enjoyed just being me. No one to answer to, no compromising, it was so refreshing! Another day the driver took me to Ubud, pointing out various sites along the way and always so helpful, waiting patiently whilst I wandered around looking at monkeys, shops and eating the most amazing food. So, before I lose your attention with my rambling what I will say is this. I was working so hard, for so long and trying to keep so many people happy I was either heading for a breakdown or my hamster wheel was about to fly off into space. Bliss is just what it says. It gives you confidence to go it alone, takes care of you like my own mum and gave me the opportunity to simply stop, breath and be. It will continue to bring me amazing memories of the people and has given me to confidence to go it alone again without another thought.
