Wow! The Unions are up in arms on the issue of raising premiums for both the employers and employees. It is the fury which unites a country. As I have mentioned before, applying Utopic policies from the Netherlands to the realities of Sint Maarten is inconsiderate and EVIL GOVERNMENT. It seems that our local politician would advocate ANYTHING to get their fotos on the front-page of our local newspapers. What the hell do we need SER if its not looking after our countrys interests? It is very down-to-earth and simple to conceive. A huge amount of dollars in the form of premiums would be collected from employers and employees to purchase insurances from a few private companies. It is only those large companies which will be benefitting, since our country already has achieved a reasonable of stability, along with the subfolders of pension and welfare. Although the rising prices has lowered the standard of living of the elderlies and those affected with fixed-income, much investigations is needed in areas such as discriminations and abuses of regulations in public-housings. Originally, the intentions of public-housings were to provide shelters for those whom could not qualify for loans or had lower income, as well as emergency needs. Those houses have now been rented to the more affluent tenants, thereby neglecting the original SOCIAL-INTENTION.
