Wow! The smell of the diesel, the roar of the engine - just makes my blood pump! Spent a great night helping the Turner Valley Fire Department on their annual food drive for the Food Bank. Thanks to all those who helped out, it is just amazing to see a group of people who take so much of their own time, helping others! They train every week, go on calls at all times of the day and night, and then volunteer more hours after that. Even some of their little guys were out hefting bags and boxes of food into the trucks. I have never rode in a fire truck before, but it was crazy fun - and the generosity of our local people once again warmed my heart! Made me feel so happy, Im going back again tomorrow night to help Janelle Mackenzie and all the folks in Black Diamond. Got to love those Boy Scouts who stayed back at the TV United Church to take in all of our bags and boxes! Way to go boys, loved the slide that was specially constructed to speed up the process and save us from going up and down the stairs! The hot chocolate was just what we needed at the end of a chilly night - thanks ladies! Loved every minute of it, see you tomorrow night!
