Wow. Thirty years ago Juanita and I had our (then) 3 little girls: Wenona was 2 1/2, Emily McGwin Harrington just turned 1 yr old, and Deanna Klawitter was only 2 months old -all packed up in my little Toyota on our cross-country adventure to visit various family members. We were staying in Colorado overnight, on our way to Idaho when this happened. We changed our route and went to Arizona, then So Calif, and came back home via the southern route. We never made it to the Coeur d Alene Rez. Spent a week driving through freakin Nebraska one day, though. We complained about how boring that was - so Mother Nature had to spice up our trip, I guess.
