Wow….. Undercover Boss popped up to my eyes the other night on TV accidentally and “seductive” enough to hold me back at my working counter from lunch box to watch every single episode. All I can say it is such an amazing reality TV show with meaningful lessons learned. As a manager and also a staff, I am lucky to gain the viewpoints of both sides. Wanted to write down a very long essay yet have to mark the calendar for this note in another time. Just a very very quick thought shared: – As a staff: Put heart in all the work assigned. Strive hard or even harder to contribute most to the corporate success. Think for the company and make boss proud by your performance. Don’t ask or wait to get paid off when you haven’t contributed and delivered good work. In the end, good things (money) come when you least expect it. - As a manager: never shut the door on staffs, always give them a chance to fix mistakes, always give them room to grow. Make sure you coach them well, clear instruction given. Leave the door open for them to enter and tell you the problem then talk less, listen more, empathize most and help them to overcome their issues. Acknowledge the efforts and let go of your ego sometimes to empower your staffs In the end, do the right things at the right time. Undercover Boss - the show must see. so touching to see the revealing part..love it
