Fields Jr., 30, of 166 Maple St., Massena, with fourth-degree criminal mischief, second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, criminal trespass and resisting arrest at 1:45 p.m. Sunday on Riverview Street. Police said they responded to a report Fields was attempting to break into the home of his ex-girlfriend, Jean Cox, over child visitation issues. Police said Fields allegedly damaged a door jam after using an EBT card in an effort to open a locked door with his ex-girlfriend standing behind the door. Police said Ms. Cox opened the door when police arrived on the scene, and Fields shoved the door open and pushed his ex-girlfriend. Police alleged Fields struggled when police attempted to take him into custody and was found in possession of a dagger. He also reportedly failed to comply with requests from Ms. Cox to leave the property. Police said the incident took place after Fields and Ms. Cox had argued over child visitation issues.
