Wow its been a rough couple of days for us. One of our sons got injured. He will be fine, but will have to drastically change his everyday life. To stop doing an activity that had very much become part of his identity and how he saw himself. In our house sports and athletics, has always been a mainstream daily thing with us. As parents we worried about having 4 sons to raise so very close in age. We decided early on the best way we knew how to keep these active boys safe from young through the teen years was to push hard and for all of us to become super active athletic people. Now what do we say to the boy that must change a path he was planning on competing in..live and breathed for...well maybe we dont have to say much. Just be here...as the mind accepts a sudden change in course, the heart heals, and the passion of something new comes along. Isnt it said when one door closes another opens?
