Wow just had a massive flashback due to some kind words said by my good good childhood friend Nigel Thompson.. Which made me sad about the plight of English football today! Kids nowadays would rather go play Fifa, or champ manager. than go kick a ball. Nigel reminded me of a group of 11 to 13 year olds would either play against each estate on the school fields. Or take on our local Sunday league teams n beat em.. I can go further to Primary school football and how competitive that was in Longsight. From all the way from Medlock to Crowcroft Park. So I want say a massive thank you to all the most talented Ballers from Longsight. And Nigel Thompson many thanks for the kind words.. Been telling folks about the talent from longsight. . We had hood legends like Junisa Kpekawa & Carl Thompson from Ross Place. Michael Beirne n Jermaine Campbell down crowcrowft. The Anderson. James Francis Daly Sean Daly Darren Lee Darren Headley The Montroses. Johnny Loughlin and The God Val Owen. The talent goes on n on. To our greatest products in Wes Brown, Danny Welbeck n Ishmael Miller.. You make me proud. But the thing that saddens me most is folks from Longsight hating on those who have made it n slag them off at every opportunity. Everyone else can do that but we stick together supporting and encouraging no matter what. You can take the man out of Longsight but you cant take longsight out of the man..
