Wow one of my FB friends who is a NO voter, commented to a post that I shared, just sat down to reply and I think she has blocked me, wow its politics, whether you vote YES or NO, it will never be personal, obviously I feel passionate and will try my hardest to convince u to see why Im voting YES, just as the NO voters are doing with me, its called democracy, anyway I want to post my response to her never the less, just incase she decides to have a look, u know who u are:) No one is saying independence will bring utopia, that would indeed be silly however, what is does bring is hope. A few facts that cannot be spun away by the doom and gloom better together campaigners. We are up to our necks in debt, caused by a succession of Westminster governments. We will soon go into another 25 billion austerity cuts which will attack our most vulnerable people (again). This was caused by banking de-regulation and reckless risk taking bankers (spell check), the same people and organisation who had the audacity this week to preach to us about the risks of independence (with the natural resources we have!!) – unbelievable, shame on you Mr Brown. You talk of insulting the intelligence of Scottish people (how patronising is that). We have had train loads of politicians coming to Scotland this week, manipulation from leaders in commerce and leaked information by civil servants about a financial organisation (scandalous if not illegal also). In addition, a new timetable on further powers from the Westminster elite, all of this in reaction to one poll released last weekend (remember that all of the above coming when some people have already submitted their postal votes). 50,00 people demonstrated in London last week to try and save the NHS from further privatisation (with Labour visible in support), then we have Better Together - with a coalition of Labour/ Conservatives and Liberals etc. preaching to us about the risks to the NHS coming from an SNP government in Scotland with its devolved power – Jesus Wept!! give me strength and please no more talk about being patronised!! Anyway, enough of my rant, everyone can vote as they wish (that’s democracy) just spare me the propaganda nonsense. I was a no voter initially and I am now very happy to be voting YES, not out of nationalist garbage (both sides are proud to be Scottish) but by seeking out the facts and seeing through the scare mongering/ spin and propaganda – it’s not hard to do, just open your eyes and ears and have the intellectual ability the analyse the facts and make an informed decision which is not based on self-interest. Will independence make Scotland perfect - No Way - it does however, give us the mandate and opportunity to at least try:)
