Wow, this is really powerful!!! Its a seven minute, beautiful, cinematic journey into the dying glaciers on Mt Hood. Stunning, poetic, and deeply moving. I feel inspired to not only continue researching this issue, but to pay a visit to Wyeast and maybe someday get close enough to see them myself. Earlier today I learned about Paradise Glacier on Mt Rainier, which disappeared only within the last few decades. The documentary I watched said that the remaining glaciers on Mt Rainier are now melting six times faster than they did in the previous century. Scientists are looking at what happened to the landscape there for clues about what may happen on Mt Hood and other places where our temperate glaciers are melting, and it isnt pretty. I might not get a chance to respond til after finals. But, I would love to hear from anyone who is as moved as I am or who has taken the time to study the issue themselves.
