Wow what a day! Time for Monty to go home after a great 1 month stay. Well the day started well and less than 5 miles from home whilst driving across the army firing range turning the corner I was staggered to see 20+ Red Kites all circling like vultures! I’ve seen them in twos and threes but wow what a sight. Anyway having dropped Monty (Golden Retriever) off, it was time to travel to London to get CJ (Hungarian Viszla) who would be staying for a couple of weeks. A good journey with some essentials shopping (underwear, socks, shirts, trousers) on my yearly shop, which incidentally ladies takes less than 20 mins for the lot!! Shopping done and a pretty good journey (220 miles) back, a second stop for food essentials (Booze) in Bristol and then for the final 2 hr leg home. This is where the fun starts!! Arriving home after a 14 hr day and all you want to do is feed the dogs and get to bed. HA, if it were that easy. Now the seating arrangements in the car were as follows, Billie, and Max in the back with CJ upfront with me. Anyway usual routine, get out of the car open the 5 (which is actually a 6) bar gate, whilst the dogs stay in the car. Drive into the garden and reverse the procedure and lock the gate before letting the dogs out of the car. Well, I opened the boot and out jump Billie and Max. In the two to three seconds it took me to do this and then get to the front door to let CJ out, CJ had stood on the cars central locking button on the central console! Engine running, hungry Viszla locked in the front, ALL doors and boot locked with engine running. I know it’s easy go in doors get the spare car key and all will be well with the world! NO! House keys are on the car key fob and so also locked in the car! So along with CJ in the car I have two Bloodhounds telling me that their dinner is 3 hrs late and we WILL have dinner NOW. Long story short, fortunately I had left the garage unlocked and my crow bar is always there. Broke in problem solved! And BREATH!!
