Writ filed against NPC polls Sinhala Jathika Peramuna General Secretary Jayantha Liyanage, an electronics engineer by profession, yesterday filed a Writ Application in the Court of Appeal against the holding of the Provincial Council elections in the Northern Province. Liyanage has complained that the de-mining and the re-settlement of displaced persons had not yet been completed and the holding of a poll, in the near future was not favourable.
