Writing is made when one person asks what if, pauses, then says - TopicsExpress

Writing is made when one person asks what if, pauses, then says aloud lets find out. The writing itself is the experiment. Each character and setting are an ingredient or a variable which will affect the outcome of the results. The reactions of the readers are the results, the conclusions they draw from the story at hand tell the writer what happens in their hypothetical situation. But in order for the experiment to be successful, the writer must be completely honest with his or her audience. The characters cant be jipped out of any of their traits, neither can any setting be changed from the writers first psychological encounter with it. The experiment doesnt stand on its own if it doesnt hold fast to the writers own vision of truth. Therefore it fails as an experiment. This process in and of itself, of the asking, the writing, the finding of results from the outside world, makes all writers scientists. This I believe.
