Written Christmas Eve – On the Norwegian Jewel. Twas the night before Christmas and all over the ship, Not a guest was a stirring – except the one’s addicted to the penny machines in the Casino. My bride was all cozy snuggled up in our bed. And I am wide awake - 4 espressos in my head The tree was lit up in the Atrium so bright While the Jews were kvetching, “We want Chinese Tonight.” The crew bar was packed with much Merriment and Cheer, With the maybe she’ll/he’ll sleep with me, if they’ll drink one more beer Then all of the sudden we heard such a rumble Code Alpha was called - a guest took a tumble. He was dressed up like Santa with his beard now removed With no worries or hurts – he’s had too much booze He giggled and slurred he had missed the last stair, He was fine then he beamed a grin with NO glare He yelled it so loud that he made with a daft, When life knocks you down – YOU JUST HAVE TO LAUGH Life’s got nothing to do with the gifts or toys It’s humor and love - that’s life greatest joy. So practice this message this Holiday Fair And never forget to hit the last stair!!
