Written by my wife who is from Iraq...A MOST WONDERFUL SURPRISE!!! I hope and pray every American sees this and realizes how truly blessed they are. My cousin Abeer, and her husband smuggled themselves out of Iraq into Syria, while attempting to come to America. She and her husband had to live countries apart for years. He did not see his daughter for the first 3 years of her life. The Lord finally brought them together in Syria, and they got a sponsor to come to Canada. They were in more danger in Syria than they were in Iraq, but the Lord was so merciful. My aunt and uncle (brother and sister, not husband and wife) from California decided to fly here to MI and surprise her. The entire family was supporting them while they were transitioning...this is true genuine Christianity....giving the gospel while tangibly loving others. She got the surprise of her life yesterday when she saw 3 aunts and an uncle...all unexpected. We have no idea how wonderful we have it. If you dont know my story, my dad was persecuted in Iraq because he refused to join an Islamic party...he was thrown in jail for over 2 years and almost died. When he got out.....he left everything behind and came to America for freedom. May we never forget, as bad as some think America is.....it STILL is a beacon on a hill....and the most glorious country in the world to me! I dont worship my country....but I am SO thankful for the Lord choosing to bring me here to save me. So many of my family has now become Christians since coming here to America. All 3 of those aunts (my mom being one) that visited Abeer have become Christians. Abeer is a Christian now, as well as her husband. And I am praying for the rest of my family.
