Wrong and right way to execute a pull up. Notice in the first part that the shoulder blades elevate and the flexion (Rounding) of upper back. This is improper technique and will NOT stimulate the main back muscle (latissimus dorsi) Second clip you see that the shoulder blades stay stable in low position as I pull up, allowing the lats to properly engage (as seen) Inability to hold shoulderblades down, may indicate weakness of serratus anterior and lower trapezius.
