Wrong time, wrong century. Unfortunately, the simple fact of the matter is that in this day age, (50% divorce rate for first time marriages / 85% divorce rate for 2nd marriages) its foolish for a man to get legally married. As all he is doing is signing a contract to be responsible for alimony / spousal support if things go wrong and potentially give up the lions share of his assets, regardless of whose fault it is. Bottom line: If youre going to get married, always have a Prenuptial Agreement (even if the only thing it says is No Alimony). Better yet, live together with a written Cohabitation Agreement.
