Wut? OK, so I know I am tired. Long day, not particularly well etc, all conspiring against me. Came upstairs to work. PC wouldnt switch on - no LEDs no nuffink. OK, so possibly a fuse or something, I guess. Other things plugged in to same extension flex are OK - e.g. the monitor. Swap plugs between PC and monitor - same situation. OK, so maybe the PSU has died... but thought Id try it in a different wall socket - no, no joy. Tried the other power cable from old machine. Still nothing. Decided this was obviously just to make sure I didnt work tonight, and tomorrow would probably be a PSU shopping day. Just one more try though, eh? Plugged the original cable back in, in its original slot, and, yes, it works. More strangely, the PC appears not to have noticed that at some point it lost all power. OK, so sleep naturally slides in to hibernation these days (and thank you the Gods of computing, for that), but I generally get something on my machine complain if the mains have been yanked out even while hibernating. This time, straight in as though from a light nap. Peculiar. But also, I am glad it is working.
