YES Susan CAN! Day # 66 Oct. 1 2014 UPDATE: (I missed last weeks update so WARNING: Susan wrote a long one!) OK! (Deep breath- you may as well get comfy!) Yesterday I finished my 3rd - 21 day round on my eating plan. Ive stuck with this for 9 straight weeks! (Going public makes a lady very accountable! - besides, RESULTS ARE ADDICTING!) RESULTS: As of this morning Ive lost 27.2 lbs & shed 32.5 inches! (This weeks progress was 4.4 lbs & 3.6 inches) This round worried me, & for the 1st 2 weeks I thought Id hit a plateau. Thankfully....progress continued. PROGRESS: My husband Tom joined me on this journey 3 weeks ago. He has lost 16 lbs. & feels much better emotionally & physically. Were also getting along better! SO I have averaged a loss of 3.1 lbs & 3.6 inches over all per week for 9 of them! (Averaging sure fixes those weeks that progress isnt quite so stellar. I LOVE averages! ) HURDLES: All of us struggling or working toward weight loss, stumble along the way. (With hormones shifting, self- sabotage, or bumping into the stressful side of life etc. Heck! There are even happy celebrations to help us reward ourselves with less than healthy choices. What I love about the changes Tom & I are making together is that its NOT A DIET to blow. Its our lifestyle now. We know we feel better when we eat clean & stay positive. Its so much easier to pick up & carry on instead of feeling we failed. This time around its building our relationship in positive ways. What a great fringe benefit! ( we are still Tom & Susan- We have our moments most of u have seen, but succeeding together helps) REFLECTIONS: When I began this journey my first goal was 10 lbs. My Big Goal was/is 70lbs. (That felt nearly unreachable 9 weeks ago & I NEVER dreamed Id be nearly halfway there in so short a time! Now instead of feeling Ive set an insurmountable goal for myself my mind is racing with excitement while I try to predict how quickly I can reach it & set a new goal! With our Body By Vi shakes, cereal & fridge/cupboards full of fresh, healthy non- processed foods its easy to be thoughtful about how we fuel our bodies. Best of all we dont desire or crave the less healthy foods as much. When we do try them theyre not as good as we remember. Ive learned that when I do get stuck (actually caught unprepared) or choose to eat something unhealthy for whatever reason...I FEEL it. Processed or fast foods affect me negatively immediately!!! Its becoming easier to choose inside the box foods as I become more & more creative with outside the box ideas for healthy meals snacks, menus & even treats! Who would have cravings with shake mix that smells like cake batter & can be mixed with healthy foods to taste like Reeses or Strawberry cheesecake? Tom & I will continue to keep track of our progress in 21& 90 day CHALLENGE phases but we are NOT going back to the way we used to eat and live our lives. We are switching healthy ingredients for less healthy options. Planning my meals and a knowing which foods/ portions fit our plan is easier & becoming second nature.(Even habit). I guess the old saying, Youre never too old to learn is true in our case! (Im so grateful for this chance to really live life again!)
