YES! YES YES YES. I have been waiting for this video, and didnt even know it! Perfect. EVERY SINGLE PERSON on the internet needs to watch this. EVERYONE. Because we all screw up, and we need to know how to handle it when we do. My favorite point, the one I wish I could staple to the forehead of 99% of the internet, is: INTENT DOESNT MATTER. Almost everyone in the world understands this! If Im out shopping and someone accidentally runs into me or bumps me with a cart or whatever, 95% of the time, they apologize! Usually profusely! And we all recognize that someone who *doesnt* apologize is a Grade-A Asshole. So why is this concept so difficult to translate to interactions between people? If you say something that hurts and/or offends another person, and/or perpetuates the oppression of a marginalized group, EVEN IF YOU DIDNT MEAN IT THAT WAY, the right thing to do is APOLOGIZE. Sincerely. THIS IS NOT A DIFFICULT CONCEPT! Anyway. Watch the video. Its awesome.
