YOU CAN ENDURE HARDSHIPS WITH GOD! DONT GIVE UP! Hebrews 12:6-11 because the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and he chastens everyone he accepts as his son.” Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as his children. For what children are not disciplined by their father? If you are not disciplined—and everyone undergoes discipline—then you are not legitimate, not true sons and daughters at all. Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of spirits and live! They disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share in his holiness. No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it. I’m definitely not the poster-child for discipline. When hardship and difficulties come rushing through my door, my first thought is usually, “Why me?” I wonder what I did wrong to deserve this. Thoughts cross my mind like, “this is happening to me because I haven’t been praying lately”, or “this wouldn’t be happening if I would have…” I take the new disaster going on in my life and I place it squarely on my own shoulders, knowing it is impossible that I could bear it alone. He’s taking us somewhere, and trust me, we want to be where He wants to take us. The painful process of suffering through hardship is not easy, and it is not a solo mission. God is not looking for us to endure alone, but for the process to create a deeper relationship with Him and for us to trust Him and rely upon Him in those storms. Verse-A-Day
