YOU CANNOT SAVE YOURSELF Before someone can be saved, he must come to realize that he is lost and needs saving, until this happens a person will think that he is ok and will not seek to be saved. There are many in this world today that believe their deeds earn them a place in heaven to be with God, however, they are just as lost as the Atheist if their deeds is what they have put their confidence in. Salvation, in this day of grace has nothing to do with what you do in the way of deeds, works, or keeping of the Jewish Laws; what you believe, and the utter grace of God is all that matters. Today salvation is very simple, God has done everything that is necessary except you must believe the Gospel according to the Apostle Paul. This gospel is found in 1Cor 15:1-4 (KJV) plus nothing else. Titus 3;5,6 - Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; It is not your works of righteousness that saves you, but the mercy of God which is through Jesus Christ our Saviour. Romans 3:20 - Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. If you think by keeping the Law it will save you, you are still lost, because by the deeds of the Law there shall no flesh be Justified in his sight: The law only makes you guilty, the law is not to justify it is to condemn, try as you may you can never be justified by the law. Ephesians 2:8,9 - For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. If you have added anything to this, you will not be saved because you have rejected the provision that God has made. Salvation is by grace alone through faith alone, in Christ alone, and not because of anything good that you have done. Romans 11:6 - And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work. If you add works, then you destroyed grace and then grace becomes works, and grace is no more grace. This is very easy to understand. Galatians 2:16 - Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Pay close attention that this verse says by the faith of Jesus Christ and by the faith of Christ it does not say faith in Jesus Christ, so, notice that a man is not justified by his own faith, but it is the faith of Jesus Christ that God accepts in the granting of your Salvation. Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Friends, if we try to become righteous in ourselves, we are bound to fail, sin requires payment and that payment is the death of the one committing the sin. However, do not despair, there is a remedy, Jesus Christ has paid the sin debt of every person that has ever been born, or for that matter, anyone that ever will be born; He did that on the cross at Calvary. For your salvation you owe God nothing because salvation is free to the believer, but, it is not Cheap it cost Jesus his life, his life for yours. I said we owe nothing for our salvation, however, we should be willing to give everything to God and present ourselves a living sacrifice unto God which is our reasonable service Romans 12:1. If we have believed the gospel, that is, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 (KJV) Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: Then we have eternal life through the Son, but that is the only way to be saved, there is no magic formula, no rituals, no water baptisms, enchantments, no crying, or begging. There is no need to ask the Lord to save you just believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved. There are no requirements to ask Jesus into your heart or run the isles, you have no need to go down to the prayer bench in front, none of these things will save you or aid you in being saved; when you believe the Holy Spirit will Place you in the Body of Christ. You are the temple God, after that you have believed God resides within you. I have heard many people say it is very hard to be a Christian. I disagree, though it seems hard at times to live a Christian life, but that is not the same as being a Christian, once you are saved you are always saved. Once you were saved you may never do anything for the cause of Christ, but you will always be saved, therefore you will always be a Christian maybe not a very good one, but nevertheless, still a Christian. God gave you eternal life, not probation, there is not one verse of Scripture unless it is twisted and taken out of context that ever says you can lose your salvation. Oh, I know there those who want you to believe that you can lose your salvation, listen to what Paul writes to the Romans... Romans 8:37-39 (KJV) Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. 38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, 39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. So, please stop trying to save yourself and let God do the job, people, that is the only way it will ever get done, you cannot save yourself.
