YOU DONT WIN YOUR OPPOSITION WITH AN ARGUMENT My teacher, when he was in the secondary school, had the biggest shock of his life when his teacher(who probably had a certificate from a college of education) told him that he would never be successful like him. He didnt argue with him. He could not have argued anyway. In my part of the world,you dont argue with your teachers. You just say Yes sir even when they are cursing your mother! He,therefore,co uldnt argue. He simply kept mute. Years later,according to him,he had become a University Scholar and was in classroom to deliver lectures to his students when he sighted an elderly man seated few desks away. That was his teacher! He had returned to school to enroll on a part-time program and the student who would never be like him was his LECTURER. As soon as my teacher sighted him,he announced him to the class and asked the class to clap for the one who taught him at the secondary school. He then appointed him as the class representative, a way of honoring a wonderful teacher. Only an angel could imagine what kind of trauma this old teacher would have gone through. Today, that student who would never be as great as his teacher is a Senior Lecturer, a PhD holder and a Barrister at Law. What a challenge! Has someone ever written you off? Have you ever been a symbol disregarded and condemned? Are peoples negative comments pulling you down? May be some of your best business associates no longer believe in your dreams and you are trying to win them with your argument. No. You dont win your enemy with an argument. But with what then do you win your opposition? SUCCESS Yes. SUCCESS. Christs brothers didnt see a messiah. David,perhaps, was the most ridiculed last-born. Jabech must have been a social outcast. But none of them argued to prove themselves. They simply pursued their dreams to the points of success. Most likely, not a few would have seen foolishness in the visions of Pastor Adeboye and Bishop Oyedepo to move to the dangerous forests of Redemption Camp and Canaan Land,respective ly. Today, these places have become the Nigerian Jerusalem. Do not prove any point to anybody again. You can only convince the opposition with your success. From now, we shall pursue,overtake and recover ALL! Therefore,our only command is: On your track... Set... GO! MY OPINION your boy (y) David Ade
