YOU NEED THE HOLY SPIRIT When Jesus was leaving the earth he left us into the hands of the Spirit of God. For in his promise he says that the Spirit would take care of us and comfort us; teaching us all things and bringing into our remembrance all things himself had taught us. John 14:25-26 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. 26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. KJV Now if this is the work of the Spirit, then it is clear that we need him all the days of our lives on earth. Because he is our Comforter, Teacher and Reminder of all that Jesus has taught us in the bible and all that we have learnt or heard from Gods word. Yet there is more; Jesus also talked of the Spirit testifying about him to the world with us. John 15:26-27 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me: 27 And ye also shall bear witness, because ye have been with me from the beginning. KJV This means without the testimony of the Spirit in us our testimony of him to the world will be ineffective. So we need the Holy Spirit. Yet there is more; he also talked of the Spirit coming upon us and conviction the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment; and glorifying him to us by taking from him all his things that is, all that God has, and revealing them to us. John 16:7-15 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8 And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9 Of sin, because they believe not on me; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged. 12 I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. 13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. 14 He shall glorify me: for he shall receive of mine, and shall shew it unto you. 15 All things that the Father hath are mine: therefore said I, that he shall take of mine, and shall shew it unto you. KJV. It means before we can really get the world to hear and list to us and believe his word we preach and turn from their sins we need the work of the Spirit with us. And before we ourselves can actually understand Jesus fully as God we need the help of the Spirit. All these things are clear that we actually need to depend on the Spirit in our daily lives and without him we can do nothing. Then I looked closely at Jesus himself and I realized that he did nothing without the help of the Spirit. In fact I saw and understood from God out of the Bible that the Spirit does two main jobs in our lives. And all that took place in Jesus’ life. INTERNAL WORK: Here the Spirit first comes upon us and dwells in us without anyone noticing him and he fills us with wisdom and understanding of God and his things; counsel and might or ability to do the will of God; knowledge of God and the fear of God to always do his will. And he makes of quick of understanding in the fear of God. So that we do not judge like men do with our eyes and hears. But according to the will of God, as Jesus did all his life. Isa 11:1-5 And there shall come forth a rod out of the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots: 2 And the spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and might, the spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord; 3 And shall make him of quick understanding in the fear of the Lord: and he shall not judge after the sight of his eyes, neither reprove after the hearing of his ears: 4 But with righteousness shall he judge the poor, and reprove with equity for the meek of the earth: and he shall smite the earth with the rod of his mouth, and with the breath of his lips shall he slay the wicked. 5 And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins. KJV EXTERNAL WORK: Here the Spirit of God comes upon an individual with power, with great miracles, signs and wonders; uses him/her to preach the gospel, break yokes, cast out demons, heal the sick, and break every curse. So that in the end people he comes across will be free from satanic bondage and they will now walk in liberty and in blessing and prosperity and mastery over the unbelieving world. Isa 61:1-6 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn; 3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified. 4 And they shall build the old wastes, they shall raise up the former desolations, and they shall repair the waste cities, the desolations of many generations. 5 And strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, and the sons of the alien shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. 6 But ye shall be named the Priests of the Lord: men shall call you the Ministers of our God: ye shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, and in their glory shall ye boast yourselves. KJV All these works mean we need the Holy Spirit very much. For without him none of these will ever take place in our lives. Thus we can never please God or see his power in our lives. So we must now seek the Spirit’s help in our lives as Jesus did by fasting often and daily prayers. And when he comes upon us, he will first sanctify us from the world and from all sins of the flesh. Then he will use us as vessels of honor to the glory of God and of Christ. 2 Tim 2:19-26 Nevertheless the solid foundation of God stands, having this seal: The Lord knows those who are His, and, Let everyone who names the name of Christ depart from iniquity. 20 But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay, some for honor and some for dishonor. 21 Therefore IF ANYONE CLEANSES HIMSELF FROM THE LATTER, HE WILL BE A VESSEL FOR HONOR, SANCTIFIED AND USEFUL FOR THE MASTER, PREPARED FOR EVERY GOOD WORK. 22 Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart. 23 But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. 24 And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient, 25 in humility correcting those who are in opposition, if God perhaps will grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth, 26 and that they may come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.
