YOU WONT GET IN THAT WAY How foolish can you be? After starting your new lives in the Spirit, why are you now trying to become perfect by your own human effort? I ask you again, does God give you the Holy Spirit and work miracles among you because you obey the law? Of course not! It is because you believe the message you heard about Christ. In the same way, “Abraham believed God, and God counted him as righteous because of his faith.” The real children of Abraham, then, are those who put their faith in God. Galatians 3:3, 5-7 NLT When confronted with the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ,one of the first things someone will say who wants all the benefits of being a Christian without all the responsibilities is Im a good person. The first question you should ask people like this is good by whose standards? Yours or Gods?? Listen friend,you can be a good,moral,honest person and still miss the mark and end up in hell even with/after all the good youve done because you never did the one thing that really matters. You never took the time to begin a relationship with Jesus Himself. Would you believe that many of those people you know who sit in church every single day still have not done the one thing that saves their souls? They listen to the gospel every Sunday,they hear it again during midweek services,but have not actually said in their hearts Jesus I accept you as Lord and savior,nor did they every really repent of their sin. They are those who believe that as long as they go to church regularly,be good to others,and bring a little money for tithes they will make it to heaven. They have developed whats known as a works religion. They think they can get salvation by the things they do,and not they way the bible says it must be done...simply by belief. Jesus said in John 11:25; Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: What Jesus did NOT say is he that is just a good person. One of the most well known scriptures in the bible by both believer and non alike is; Jesus told him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. ( John 14:6). There is the key folks. No one gets into the kingdom of God without knowing and living for Jesus. Period. If you think being a good person is enough to save you,you are only fooling yourself. You cant get into the kingdom of God like that. You must have a working,living,and truthful faith and relationship with the risen Christ. As acts 4:12 tells us; There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. ...and that name is Jesus.
