YOUNG GENERATION OF NAIJA SPEAKS OUT! (submitted by Odukoya Adedamola): Nigeria In Focus. I am a young Nigerian that just clocked 15, thinking to and fro about Nigerias problems. I have come to a conclusion that Nigerians are the problem of Nigeria. There are so many ways by which we have been unable to secure the nation, which are still going on now. We dont respect the law. How can a country move forward? The government keeps on doing things autotratically, and yet we say we are in a democratic state. If this reign was during military rule, we would have been rejoicing, but during a democratic rule, we are sobbing. Our politicians do not have their children here in Nigeria, they study abroad since the state of education is kind of bad, yet no solution. Why arent they feeling the pains of the people? Why are they always thinking about their pockets? Didnt we vote them in? Then why are they turning against us? Obviously, these are our faults. The same thing theyve been telling us since 1999 are still the lies we fall for in this nation, then by that, can there be change? Sometimes, I laugh at saying that youths are the leaders of tomorrow. Please can I ask? Have there been a leader that falls below 35? It is scarce! Youths should stand up! We arent the leaders of tomorrow! We want to rule today! Isnt there solutions to all the problems? Certainly there is! What is the solution? Know your rights and defend them. It is by knowing our rights that we can be able to fight for them. A policeman or a soldier has no rights to enter your room or arrest you without warrant, is that the case in Nigeria? Nigerians, wake up! Theyve been lying to us, it is high time we say NO to corruption!
