Yall, in Brazil we had a week-late Release (because of customs and mail issues the past few weeks) so weve only had our events this weekend, so this report is kind of late, BUT In my hometown weve had our first midnight event, plus 2 Saturday events (one starting at 3pm and another at 9pm, going all the way until 3am - Ive participated in both of these). I ended up pretty bad at 2-1-2 and 0-4 with good little WR and GR decks that never pulled through. Ive surely lost to Garruk (picture of defeat below). BUT The coolest things happened. First, on the afternoon event there were 2 women out of 24 players only, but there were 3 girls watching, playing off-event, and strongly considering playing on the next one. One of them was with a guy who saw me listing and surprised, said Oh look, a girl playing Magic! and his female companion was like, Who says a girl cant play Magic? AND IN MY HEAD I WAS LIKE BOOM SHOTS FIRED BLESS THIS GIRL On the nightly event, also, another interesting thing happened: it was limited to 16 players only and 4 were women! There were 4 couples playing at the event, so it could almost be called Couples Night anyway, but were reached a 25% women participation in a Prerelease for the first time! Yaaaay
