Yamaha AEX 1500 model archtop guitar. I made this Brazilian rosewood lava type AAA grain pickguard with a mother-of-pearl crescent moon and gold pearl star for Tony Costa aka Astronaut Jones. Tony is a guitarist, songwriter, performer, producer and arranger. He choose this symbol because of Astronaut Joness association with space type planetary influences. At first I thought of Islam and their religious symbol but Tony has adapted it for his music. The thickness of the pickguard is an 1/8 thick. The base of the pickguard is black phenolic with a 1/16 thick Brazilian rosewood veneer on top.
