Yankton firefighters responded to Freeman Company manufacturing, - TopicsExpress

Yankton firefighters responded to Freeman Company manufacturing, 719 Walnut Street, at around 1:45 Tuesday afternoon for a chemical tank on fire. Light smoke was venting from the building when the fire department arrived and all employees had been safely evacuated. The fire was quickly extinguished and the chemical tank remained intact. Eighth Street was closed from Douglas Avenue to Cedar Street during the incident. Firefighters were on scene for approximately one hour. Yankton County EMS, the Yankton Police Department, Yankton County Sheriffs Office and Yankton County Emergency Management also assisted at the scene.
