Yasir Qadhi: Paris Attack & the Prophets Status In this timely khutbah, Sheikh Dr. Yasir Qadhi gives his comments on the recent killing of the cartoonists in France. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent as a mercy to the world, and his Seerah is replete with incidents of forgiveness and mercy. These incidents, put together, form the rule: other incidents that are invoked as evidence are the exception and must be understood in the overall context of the Seerah. We also need to look at the context of this violence: there are political and social causes that allow radical voices to be heard and acted upon. Without understanding these root problems, we will never understand why such violence occurs.
